Privacy Policy

Summary

Flux does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app stores all user data on-device and communicates only with the news sources you subscribe to.

What we collect

Nothing. Flux does not collect any personal information, analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage statistics. There is no account, no login, no signup.

What stays on your device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and never transmitted to any server controlled by us:

• RSS feed subscriptions, bookmarks, and read state
• Offline-saved articles and their snapshots
• App settings and preferences
• Optional user-imported Site Recipes (custom CSS/JavaScript bundles you choose to import)
• WebView cookies and local storage from the news sites you read

This data is stored in standard iOS containers (SwiftData, UserDefaults, App Group container, WebKit storage) and is included in your iCloud device backup if you have one enabled.

Network requests

Flux makes the following network requests on your behalf:

• RSS / Atom feeds — fetched directly from the publisher’s servers when you subscribe to or refresh a feed
• YouTube — when you open a YouTube article, requests are made to YouTube’s public APIs (youtubei/v1/player, youtubei/v1/next) to retrieve transcripts and chapter markers
• Wikipedia — daily featured-article and “On this day” feeds are fetched from Wikipedia’s public REST API (/api/rest_v1/feed/featured)
• SponsorBlock — when you open a YouTube article, sponsor segment data is fetched from sponsor.ajay.app
• Article content — when you open an article in Reader or Web mode, the article URL is fetched from the publisher’s servers
• User-imported Site Recipes — if you choose to import a recipe bundle from a URL, Flux fetches that URL on demand

We do not proxy, intercept, or log any of these requests. They go directly from your device to the third-party servers, subject to those services’ own privacy practices.

Third-party services and SDKs

Flux contains no third-party SDKs. There is no analytics framework (no Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, or similar), no advertising framework, no attribution framework.

Tracking

Flux does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework because it does not track you. NSPrivacyTracking is set to false in the app’s privacy manifest.

Children’s privacy

Flux does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated date.
