Acceptance

By installing and using Flux (“the app”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Flux is

Flux is a personal news reader for iOS. It lets you subscribe to RSS feeds, YouTube channels, Wikipedia daily articles, and Substack publications, and read the resulting articles either in your device’s WebView or via an extracted Reader Mode.

What Flux is not

• Flux is not a content publisher. We do not produce, edit, or curate the articles you read — they come from the third-party feeds you choose to subscribe to.
• Flux is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the publishers whose feeds it can display.
• Flux does not provide a payment processor, account system, subscription, or in-app purchase.

Reader Mode

Reader Mode uses the open-source Defuddle extraction library to display the publicly accessible content of a fetched web page in a clean layout. Reader Mode operates entirely on your device and does not bypass authentication, login walls, or DRM.

Site Recipes

Flux supports user-imported Site Recipes — JSON bundles containing CSS or JavaScript snippets that customize how individual websites render in the app’s WebView. You are solely responsible for any Site Recipes you choose to import. Flux does not bundle, distribute, or vouch for any third-party Site Recipe bundle. Importing a malicious recipe could affect how websites are displayed; we recommend only importing recipes from sources you trust.

Content blocking

Flux includes optional ad and tracker blocking via Apple’s standard WKContentRuleList API. Blocking is configured by the user via Settings → Content Blocking. The filter lists used are open-source community lists (EasyList, EasyPrivacy, uBlock filters, and others).

Intellectual property

All content fetched and displayed by Flux remains the intellectual property of its respective copyright holders. Flux does not claim ownership of any third-party article, video, or other content displayed in the app. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of the websites whose content you choose to view through Flux.

Disclaimer of warranty

Flux is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We make no warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer of Flux be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL with an updated date.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of France.
